Formed in 2015, CREA is a Cayman Islands non-profit organisation focused on advancing clean energy. Our members come from a wide cross section of volunteer advocates and companies who are committed to helping accelerate the country's transition from fossil fuels to clean energy.
Who we are
CREA is recognised by the Cayman Islands Government as the consumer advocacy association for clean energy in the Cayman Islands. Our volunteer board consists of a President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer, and board elections are held annually.
What we do
CREA helps to develop policies and regulations alongside Government, regulators and utilities to ensure the sustainability and prosperity of the Cayman Islands by accelerating the transition to clean energy. CREA supports the growth of a competitive renewable energy sector which is a catalyst for green jobs and consumer choice; as well as 'energy equity', ensuring the democratisation of clean energy benefits all consumers. CREA also seeks to inform the public on issues of renewable energy, energy efficiency, climate change as well as relevant policies and issues that impact the economic, social and environmental sustainability of the Cayman Islands.
Our Mission
CREA's mission is to accelerate the shift to clean energy and energy efficiency to ensure the sustainability of the Cayman Islands. Our mission helps to ensure energy security, energy resilience, energy freedom as well as social, economic and environmental prosperity for the people of the Cayman Islands.
Board Members
Our board members are committed to accelerating the transformation of the Cayman Islands’ energy system to one that is cleaner and more efficient.
